The Taiwan Industry Technology Advancement Association (TITA), National Chung Hsing University (NCHU), Taiwan International Industry-Academia Center, and Metal Industries Research & Development Centre jointly hosted the “2022 Global Economic Outlook Forum and the 19th Taiwan Golden Root Awards Ceremony” on the 22nd at NCHU. The event was graced by a gathering of distinguished guests from industry, government, academia, and award-winning companies, collectively celebrating this honor and joy.
NCHU President Hsué Fu-Sheng, who also serves as the 7th chairman of TITA, stated that since its establishment in 2002, the association has provided enterprises with innovative technologies and investment opportunities in tech industries. Over the past 19 years, it has assisted in industrial upgrading and talent exchanges, implementing the strategy of “rooting in Taiwan and deploying globally” to set an exemplary model.
President Hsué also noted that this year, the association collaborated with NCHU’s research power to host several innovation forums. With over 1,800 research papers, NCHU has risen to become one of the top five universities in Taiwan. Looking ahead, they hope to further unite the strength of industry, government, academia, and research institutions to cultivate talents and help industries explore new blue oceans.
Amid the spotlight on Taiwan in global supply chains and the importance of sustainable development and management, the forum invited Dr. Tsao Tien-Wang, President of the Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research, to analyze “Inflation, Interest Rate Hikes, and Global Economic Outlook,” providing forward-thinking insights.
Also addressing net-zero sustainability transformation amid the ESG trend, Ms. Chou Yi-Tien, Manager of NCHU’s Industry-Academia Carbon Reduction Promotion Office, shared the university’s planning and practices. The platform aims to assist enterprises in building sustainable, low-carbon management capabilities to align with international trends.
This year, six companies received the 19th Taiwan Golden Root Awards:
· Special Contribution to Industrial Technology: Top Jet Technology
· General Enterprise Awards: Jung Shin Co., Ltd. and Jih Jia Electronics
· SME Awards: Taiwan Color Optics,Diamond Quantum Biotech, and Ying Hai Silicon Technology.
These awardees span sectors such as optoelectronic equipment, environmental health, pollution control, laser and optoelectronics manufacturing, chemical materials, and medical materials. By sharing their experiences, they inspire new technological knowledge and promote industry development.
Despite the global impact of COVID-19, Taiwan has demonstrated remarkable resilience. The award ceremony and experience sharing by the winners provide opportunities for researchers and students to engage and grow, hopefully fostering outstanding technological achievements and encouraging award-winning companies to become leaders of Taiwan’s industries.
