Implementing Sustainability from the Source: DIAMOND QUANTUM Launches Product Carbon Footprint Assessment

2025/11/21

To respond to the global net-zero trend and strengthen corporate sustainability competitiveness, DIAMOND QUANTUM Biotech Co., Ltd. invited Distinguished Professor Lai Chi-Hou from Feng Chia University last week to conduct a “Product Carbon Footprint Assessment Workshop.” This session officially marked the beginning of the company’s preparatory work for carbon footprint calculation and management. The training not only deepened the internal team’s understanding of carbon footprint concepts but also symbolized DIAMOND QUANTUM’s commitment to approaching sustainability through scientific and transparent practices.

The workshop introduced Taiwan’s latest net-zero transition policies and provided an in-depth analysis of greenhouse gas emissions in the agricultural sector, carbon sequestration frameworks, and the government’s vision for “negative-carbon agriculture.” In the future, farmers may gain marketable value through carbon sequestration mechanisms, while enterprises must rely on comprehensive assessments and life cycle thinking to accurately manage the carbon emissions of their products.

The DIAMOND QUANTUM team progressively learned how to apply life cycle frameworks such as “cradle-to-gate” and “cradle-to-grave,” map production processes, define system boundaries, collect primary and secondary data, and use emission factors for calculations. Professor Lai also shared real-world domestic and international cases—including organic citrus orchards and craft breweries—illustrating how to identify key emission sources throughout raw material acquisition, manufacturing, transportation, usage, and disposal, and develop quantifiable carbon reduction plans.

Following this workshop, the company plans to initiate carbon footprint assessments for its core products, further improving product transparency and moving toward ISO 14067 certification. As global supply chains enforce increasingly strict carbon management requirements, DIAMOND QUANTUM will continue combining innovative material technologies with sustainable actions to promote lower-carbon and environmentally friendly solutions, emphasizing that sustainability is not a slogan but a commitment implemented in every product and every process.
