DIAMOND QUANTUM's Calcium and Silicate Fertilizers Enter the Japanese Market! Fertilizer Distributor PULSAR International Visits Taiwan to Deepen Cooperation
2025/06/16
To address rice shortages in Japan caused by climate and environmental factors, Japanese fertilizer distributor PULSAR International has begun applying DIAMOND QUANTUM's calcium-silicate fertilizers to rice production systems in Japan. Recently, the PULSAR team visited Taiwan and toured DIAMOND QUANTUM’s collaborative test fields, observing crop performance after fertilizer application and giving high praise to the product efficacy.

The two-day field visit included multiple key crops and management case studies. On the first day, the DIAMOND QUANTUM team led the PULSAR delegation to the Changhua area, where they observed the application of Meily Calcium (calcium-silicate fertilizer) on guava, melon (Camila variety), and grapes, as well as the positive effects of Si Pro (silicate fertilizer) on the growth of rice and edamame.

On the second day, the itinerary included organic water caltrop (Trapa), Cleyera japonica, and rice fields treated with Meily Calcium. The group also toured greenhouses growing moth orchids where Si Pro was applied. The visit concluded with a showcase of Meily Calcium results on premium Wufeng rice and melons. Through comprehensive field observation and technical exchange, the PULSAR team was impressed by the fertilizer’s consistency and its ability to strengthen crops across various environments and crops. This visit further reinforced both parties' confidence in future collaboration in product verification and market development.

Currently, Japan’s first rice cropping season runs from February to June, with most paddies reaching the mid-growth to panicle initiation stage by May—critical for determining panicle number and grain formation. Fertilizer management at this stage directly affects yield and quality. PULSAR plans to apply DIAMOND QUANTUM products in Akita and Nagoya trial fields during this season, alongside comprehensive observation and recordkeeping. Moving forward, both parties will continue technical exchanges on fertilization strategies and crop responses, and plan a return visit to Japan by the DIAMOND QUANTUM team to observe product performance in the Japanese cultivation system. This will further solidify bilateral cooperation between Japan and Taiwan in agricultural production and material application.
